Weekend Rest: He Loves Us More

Our family plays a little game called, "I love you more."  We try to be the first to say that we love each other, and then top each other by saying, "I love you more."  Sometimes we win; sometimes we lose! However as much human love that we try to show to one another, our love can never come close to the love of God for us.             Jesus always loves us MORE!
John 15:13 "Greater love has no man than this that a man would lay down his life for his friends."

The love of God has been said to be "rich, pure, measureless."  One song writer wrote,  "If that isn't love, then the ocean is dry..."   To comprehend the love of God is often difficult.  As humans it is difficult to imagine a relationship in which love is perfect.  Sometimes it takes broken moments of our lives to realize God's love for us.  When people turn their backs on us, offend, criticize, abuse and separate from us, we have to remember the love of God.
His love is unfailing.

Weekend Challenge:

Take moments this weekend to reflect on the ways that God has shown you He loves you.  Read Romans 8:35 and realize that nothing can separate you from the love of Christ.
Thank God for His love, which is steadfast, and unfailing.

Ps. 13:5 "But I trust in your unfailing love."

Miracle Monday: "That One's Yours!" by Jo Alice Walker

It was a normal 1969 Wednesday in Indianapolis.  I would get in our church van, drive to our local assembly to meet a wonderful group of God-fearing prayer warriors.  We would meet to intercede for a myriad of needs from a plethora of people.  After we finished, I would drive the ladies to visit those who were sick, and we would conclude our fellowship by eating at a local restaurant.

On that particular Wednesday, we chose the famous Teepee Restaurant which stood next to the Indiana State Fairgrounds.  It was unique since it was built in the shape of a Naive American Teepee.  The place was known for its delicious double stack hamburgers.  I was especially fond of them! As the waitress took our orders, somehow the others didn't notice that I ordered nothing. (Times were slim and I just didn't have the money for my lunch). Later, as we chatted and laughed, the food was delivered to our table.  The waitress looked quizzically as she checked all her orders. "Strange," she whispered, "I have an extra Big Teep sandwich!"  The Lord sweetly spoke to my heart, "That one's yours."  The waitress noticed that I was the only one without a sandwich and handed me the sandwich, "No charge," she said, "This one must be yours."  That was one of the best lunches I had ever enjoyed!  Whether it was in Jesus' time in 1969, or in 2012 He still feeds hungry people.

Many times, we find our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual resources exhausted. But, the Lord just goes to His storehouse of blessings, gets exactly what we need and provides for us by saying, "That one's YOURS."

Psalm 46:1 KJV

"God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble."
