Weekend Rest

Genesis 2:2
And on the seventh day God ended
His work which he had made and
he rested on the seventh day from
all his work which he had made.

REST: To refresh oneself or recover strength

Weekend Challenge:

Recover strength in mind, body, and spirit.
Lean on the Everlasting Arms.

1. Renew yourself by praying. Let God renew your spirit with His Spirit.
2. Ask God to give you mental rest to free your mind from worry.
3. Take a moment this weekend to be outdoors. Focus on something God has created and thank Him for His blessings.
4. Make time in the busy week and weekend for quiet resting times. Even 5 minutes can work wonders.
5. Remember God created rest.  Our bodies and minds need time to refresh and recover.  We will have more strength for the journey if we make this a weekly practice in our lives.
6. Lean into God, rest from trusting in self.  Sing "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms." (Showalter and Elisha Hoffman.)

May God bless you abundantly this weeekend as you REST in Him!

Miracle Monday

Dear friend,  God is never far from anyone of us, if we will seek Him with all of our hearts.
The year was 1993.  My husband and I were newlyweds and struggling financially.  I was finishing my teaching degree and he was working for Universal Studios. His responsibility included excercising the horses for the Wild Wild West show.  One day as he was horseback riding through the 20 acre + property.  His keys, including our one and only key for the 69 Chevelle,  fell out of his pocket.  Mark searched the acreage, but to no avail.  At the time we had no money to pay a locksmith to make another one. Thankfully, when we got married, we each had a car. Both of our cars were older, and it was a good to have a backup car if one of them broke down. After Mark spent hours searching for the lost key, I picked him up from work.  The car stayed and the key remained lost.  The next day with heavy hearts and a little faith we rode out to Universal Studios, and walked into the enormous field.  We prayed and told God what we needed.  We knew finding that key looked impossible as we scoured the 20 + acres.  Time passed and we were just about to give up, when I noticed something shiny about a foot away from where I was standing.  I looked down at the mound of grass close to my feet and I saw a key glinting in the afternoon sun.  Yes, it was the missing Chevelle key.  Miracles still happen. You are more valuable than many sparrows. If you need a miracle, God can meet your need. Believe!

Psalm 46:1 KJV

"God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble."
