Weekend Rest: Resting on the Wheel

Sheltered by the Potter's calloused, earth stained hands,

formless moist dust takes shape,
vessel of promise
emerges.

Faithful wheel, rotates, bringing humble organic mud to life,
Hands that formed countless earthen vases, molds beauty.

Masterpiece rare rises, shaped by Creator's touch.

Until...

Wheel spinning, too much pressure, imperfection exposed,
clay folds, now a marred, unrecognizable
lifeless clump
of dirt.

Unfailing loving hands scoop damaged clay,
wheel turns, Master shapes, clay bends, surrender.

Flawless masterpiece emerges from rough earthy mess,
Have thine own way Lord.

  1. Beautiful likeness Jen! I want to be clay in the Potter's hands, and let Him mold me into what He wants me to be! He is the Master Potter, and I am the clay. Only He can create in me a Masterpiece that He can get glory from. Hugs~Bertie :)
