Weekend Rest: At His Feet

Push aside the attention stealers,

Silence the call of the marketplace to have and consume more,

Ignore for a moment the nagging of the daily routine,

Block out technology's constant flashing inbox, voicemails, alerts and urgencies,

Hide away...

Remember the story of the lady who found the treasure that couldn't be taken away from her.
Mary at Jesus' feet, listening, basking in His presence...

Find

a prayer closet,

a pillow for your knees,

a shady spot in a solitary place outdoors,

a quiet livingroom,

a porch,

a place alone with Jesus,

Find weekend rest at His feet.

Weekday Inspiration: Have Faith in God

It is not the greatness of my faith that moves mountains,
but my faith in the greatness of God.-- Author Unknown

"The Lord merely spoke, and the

heavens were created.

He breathed the word,

and all the stars were born,

He assigned the sea and it's boundaries and

locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.

Let the whole world fear the Lord,

and let everyone stand in awe of him

For when he spoke, the world began!

It appeared at His command."

 Ps. 33:6 - 9 NLT

Week of August 6-11

Hello friends,

This week my husband and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage. Can't believe it!  So this week my post is short and sweet.  Very thankful for every year Mark and I have shared.  God is the one who keeps us together.

Col. 3:14 "And above all these things, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity."

Something to meditate on through the week:

Lord Use Me to Do Your Will.

Blessed are the available.
Blessed are the conduits, the tunnels, the tools.
Deliriously joyful are the ones who believe
that if God has used sticks and rocks to do His will,
then He can use us.---Max Lucado

Weekend Rest: Sing!

Sing: def. make musical sounds with the voice.

Psalm 28:7 "The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me and my heart is filled with joy.  I burst out in
songs of thanksgiving."

Psalm 96:1 "Sing unto the Lord a new song..."

Isaiah 42:10 "Sing to the Lord a new song..."

1 Chronicles 16:23 "Sing unto the Lord, all the earth.."

Sing to God because he is worthy, he is holy, he is righteous,
he is king and he deserves all praise and glory.

The Bible doesn't say to sing if you sing well.  The scriptures simply say to sing to the Lord.

This weekend challenge: Sing to God and be blessed.

Blessings from singing:

Become closer to God, lower blood pressure,
improve mental health,
greater lung capacity and weight loss. : )

Psalm 46:1 KJV

"God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble."
