Weekend Rest

PEACE

This weekend... focus on Peace.  The peace of God passes all understanding.
Phil. 4:7

My dad used to tell me a story when I was younger, about an artist.  The artist created two paintings on the subject of peace. The first scene was tranquil, a content, joyful, bird was singing, the sun was shining and it appeared to be a perfect day.  The second painting was a terrible storm.  The painting was dark, filled with confusion and disaster but there was a bird singing in this painting also.

The artist asked the man the question, "In which painting is Peace?"

The man replied, "The first one of course."

The artist replied, "No, you are wrong.  It is the second painting.  The storm is raging, but the bird is calm and continues to sing.  Peace is not the absence of trouble, it is the fact that inspite of the storm the bird still sings."

Today whatever you face let Peace live in your heart. Let the Prince of Peace calm the storms you face.

Remember:
Peace is not the absence of chaos, but the knowing that in the midst of the turmoil that everything will be alright.---jlyn

  1. I absolutely love this story Jen!! You were so blessed to have been raised by parents that so love the Lord! This story so fits into the way my life has been for a long time now, but I do feel a peace in the midst of the storms of life and I'm so thankful to the Lord for His Peace in the midst of the storms of life! Love you, Bertie
